Story Sequences
During the discussion in one of our meetings, we thought it would be useful and interesting to see how each of was would imagine the final installation to be like. Here is five versions of Dolphin Drive Hunting as envisioned by all five of us:

Phase 1: When people start walking in, they will be submerged under the water acoustically and aurally. (To re-create the feeling as if they are in the underwater environment by using audio and sounds medium) It would sound like everywhere is being pressurized and watery.
Phase 2: Once they are settled or realized they are in underwater world, dolphins will be making their appearance with their distinctive sounds of which they can produce like clicking and whistling. They can be in the middle of hunting for food, swimming in the ocean. (This is to tell the audience that main characters are the dolphins, how do they communicate with each other, their lifestyle. At the same time, we are capturing the sounds they produce of whatever they are doing in an aural expressive manner.)
Phase 3: A strong disturbing high frequency sounds is heard. Dolphins are feeling uncomfortable and started to behave weirdly. Motor propellers are spinning in motion and fishermen voice can be heard above the water. Dolphins are swimming everywhere chaotically and going up and under the water. (This will be the climax of the story whereby; the hunting for the dolphins’ process is taking place)
Phase 4: Dolphins are being captured in a net and fishermen initiate the killing and slaughtering. The poor dolphins are producing crying like sounds, struggling and chaotic action is taking place of which the interaction from both the fishermen and the mammals. (This will bring the audience quite uncomfortable and disturbing sounds is being played through the speakers to depict the killing and struggling process of the mammals aurally)
Phase 5: Bringing them back to the shore. To be continued.

Ryan:
Same story sequence as the paper.
Before entering I would expect some information, “what to do, how fast i shud walk, brief about the rooms. etc.
In the first room I would see dark walls, while I walk through I wil hear dolphins swimming past and towards the front, but a motor sound buzzing from the back. I will also hear sounds that give slight pressure to the ear, similar to being under water.
In the second room, the pressure sound goes away, and I could hear all de sounds clear from above the water, eg, diff engine sounds, ppl shouting from afar. More machinary sounds, dolphins sqealing from above water. etc.
In the third room, all the killing will happen. Machinery sounds traveling back and forth, side to side.
Once in a while u can hear crates coming and pick the dolphin up. But some visual aids will be needed so that people know what is going on. Dolphins being harpooned (exagerated), more dolphin squels..
4th room, trucks dragging dolphins towards the 5th room, urban sounds..
5th room, the cutting up, slaughtering sounds, the knife sound can be exagerated. Visual aids required
*further down will be several news reports.

Walking in to a sound art installation that is purely built on stirring up the emotions of people to bring forth a deeper meaning to how they feel about this entire holocaust to the marine aquatic mammals. The purpose of this sound art installation is to serve as a platform to educate people out there who are still ignorant about this brutal massacre that will lead to pollution, extinction and mercury-poisoning.
My perception of how the sequence should go about is from the starting of the day would be very much prefer that the beginning sequence to sound more serene and pure innocent squealing and playful water bubbles blow by these adorable dolphins. Then the fishermen will come in the next scene rowing their sampans and motorboats to the deeper ends of the sea. There will be sounds of their conversation, clattering of harpoons and chains getting ready to prey for the day. When we move on to the next scene it will be the struggling of the dolphins and splashing of waters , there will be a mixture of the crying of the dolphins and the fishermen cursing and swearing and also the sound of the harpoons penetrating into the bodies of the dolphins should be accentuated to bring out a more genuine impact. There should also be sounds coming from cranes and chains wheeling up the dolphins and tossing them into lorries. Motor sounds should also be focus one as it will lead the people to know where the dolphins were at. Or at least give them an idea that they are to be brought into the slaughter house for butchering.I should be able empathize the pain that the dolphins are going through at that point of time. The sounds when dolphins are being unloaded should not be vaguely express, if not the people will feel that something is lacking and will also allow their step by step imaginations run wild. The final part is the slicing of the neck allow them to bleed to death. This is a extremely hard part for us to touch on, therefore we need to have more impacts on it so that it can be nicely connected to the next scene when it was being butchered. At this time, news report should be playing to express their opinions and their ideas that is against dolphins poaching.

Wen Xun:
Story tell from a third person view, no underwater scene, so as not to confuse audience on the medium that the event is happening.
First stage
I will hear birds chirping, sound of waves, will be quite peaceful. A scene of ocean, sun rising, that kind of thing. And also the sound of the dolphin, and slight motor boat sound.
Second stage
Start to hear men conversation, shouting and giving commands, sound of metal rods, and sound of dolphins become more distorted, and messy. And sound of dolphins struggling, water slpashing.
Third stage
Sound of splashing more dominant, dolphins struggling became more obvious, everything get into chaos. Men started shouting more, and sound of slashing should come in.
Fourth stage
Hear some more dominant sound of motor boat moving, and followed by sound of lorries, and men’s conversation. Sound of dragging must also be heard.
Fifth stage
Sound of saw, chains, fans, and give a echoic feeling of the atmosphere. Sound of water dripping, and a little sound of dolphin screeching. And men’s conversation.
