Updated technical blueprint

June 29, 2008

Hi guys,

this is the new blueprint of the lightings design, colour and intensity of the lightings can only be confirmed after experimenting. These are some items that we need for the ambient design:

-Console
-Vari Lite 500 80V
-DMX cable
-Power cable
-Martin Mac700 profile (STA has this) *moving lights
-Red head
-Stands for lights
-Strips of navy blue paper
-Filter( blue,green red)

I was exploring deeper into the ambient design, was thinking since our cause is on dolphin drive hunting, we are creating the underwater ambient. Do you all think that we can have blotch of red patches lightings to represent blood in the water. Please give me some comments because i will need to work this out asap.

Thanks,
SaM

Information will be added to our research materials soon. Within the pages of his site, you will also find an interesting article about dolphins speaking in “stereo”.

Reference Works – finally with photographs, videos, links, and more.

Please take note of the information on Dr. Nigel Llwyd William Helyer. He is the sonic artist we met at the MMRL.

Futo Port, Shizuoka, Japan, 1999

May 17, 2008

Hi Guys,

It turns out that the video we have always been using heavily for reference happened on October 14, 1999 at the Futo Port in Japan. Here is another YouTube video of the same event. This one is from the Environmental Investigation Agency in London and the dolphins hunted here are bottlenose dolphins.

In this video you get a better idea of the sounds heard during the event – digetic sounds only (no music, no narration):
